RV Caravan Tours:
About Caravanning
Your Road Trip to Outdoor Adventure TM

Caravanning vs. Going it Alone:
People have traveled together in groups since the dawn of man. From the Caravanserai of the Silk Road merchants, to the pilgrimages of the Middle Ages, to the massive migration of pioneers along the Oregon Trail, people have banded together for safety and comaraderie. When traveling with like-minded companions you'll make friends fast. And it's nice knowing there's a network of helping hands looking out for you.

Avoid Pitfalls with a Caravan Guide:
As in the past, modern caravans are lead by experienced guides (or wagonmasters) who know the route well. By participating in a caravan tour, you'll avoid the pitfalls and instead you'll experience the safest roads, great grocery and general stores with the best selections, safe gasoline stops, and fabulous campsites with the best views, and you'll never get lost.

A Caravan Tour Makes it Easy on You:
With a caravan tour,
you pick the geographic region you want to explore, and leave the research and details to your caravan touring company. You'll be able to experience more in a shorter time, for less money and definitely less worry and stress than any other way. A caravan tour makes it easy so you can enjoy your trip.

Freedom of Choice:
Although you'll travel in a group, you have the freedom to drive separately from the pack. You can even leave the tour for a side-trip of your own and rejoin the group later. You may miss some enroute scheduled events, but if they are something you're not interested in, why not do some exploring on your own? And remember, you have the privacy of your own RV at any time. In the evenings you have the choice to join the community campfire and cook on the community charcoal grill, or retire to the privacy of your own RV for dinner and evening. You choose.

If you have an RV group with special interests other than those offered in our current tours, please see the link to Custom Tours on the Our Tours page for details about arranging a custom tour for your RV group.

Worry-free Arrangements:
You'll never have to worry about where to stop for the night: campsites are reserved and waiting for you. You'll never have to worry about the availability of tickets to that hot tourist attraction: We've picked the best attractions, tours and stops, and all these things are pre-arranged and are included in the price of the tour.

Emergencies:
Your loved ones or business associates can leave messages for you on our message line, which we will be checking twice a day. We will also have a cell phone with us, but in wilderness areas it is out of range. Also, there are hospitals within 45 minutes of even our remotest destination, and we are connected to each other with CB radios, which we will provide if you are renting your RV.

Scenic Byway

Why take an RV tour?
The beauty of nature is not available near most hotels; therefore you have to get out of the towns to experience the best parts of nature. Imagine bringing your hotel room with you, never having to pack and unpack at each new destination. That is what traveling in an RV is all about. Each morning you wake up in the same bed, but the view is different. You'll be amazed at what this type of gypsy traveling can do for your soul!

Sternwheeler

Why take a tour with us?
We specialize in one- and two-week regional loop trip tours. All tours are small-group, guided, escorted, and narrated; currently no more than four RVs. We concentrate on giving you a quality nature experience, and as many quirky local adventures as we can pack in.

Mt. Hood + Alpine Lake

We're the locals!
We're experts on the areas we travel through, and can show you the best while avoiding the crowds or waiting in lines. By spending years planning these tours, testing them, and making reservations in advance, we can save you time so you're able to see more of the area while you're with us than you would be able to see on your own.

South Falls What else?
We care about people.
We value teamwork.
We're dedicated to your quality experience.
We deliver fun.
Country Road Why is a one- or two-week tour a better trip?
Then working folks can fit it into vacation time away from work. Also folks can fly in from anywhere in the world and rent an RV. We love attracting a cross-cultural group of people to swap stories with over our community campfire each night. It's not a big time commitment, so RV newcomers can check out the RV lifestyle and experience this wonderful method of off-the-beaten-path travel and exploration.
Forest Camping Spot Why a loop trip?
So folks flying in don't have to pay a drop-off charge when returning their rental RVs. Also, it gives you a "more rounded" view of the region we are exploring. From valleys to mountains, and from oceans to high desert: we see it all!
Crater Lake Why is a regional trip better?
Would you want to see Europe in a week? Lots of people try it. We think we can give you a better tour experience if we concentrate in one area at a time. Slow down; see the offbeat places that only the locals know about. Leave knowing a place well enough to return and do further explorations on your own: you'll know all the best places to go, and will have your own favorites picked out. And if you like your first tour with us, come on back and take a different regional loop trip.
Wakena Falls Who should take an RV Caravan Tours adventure?
Active people who enjoy fun, travel, hiking, nature, camping, small tour groups, driving a vehicle, and meeting new people of different cultures, mindsets and temperaments. Participants can be any age or gender, as long as they are youthful minded, are relatively fit, patient, and have an adventurous spirit, as "road trip" and "perfection" are often incongruous terms. Good candidates include people wanting an active vacation in the region we cover, but who don't have time to plan a trip there, or who don't know where to go once they get there. Also, those who are thinking of buying an RV (or who just bought one) would enjoy our guided tours.
Lighthouse No hidden charges!
Our tours are ticket rich; all events are included in the tour price. Ticketed events which require advance reservations are a better tour value than restaurant meals! Tour participants would need to budget for most of their food, all their gas, oil, and RV supplies, an RV if they rent one including insurance, their flight if they fly in, a taxi from the airport to Cruise America RV rentals (unless they buy the optional airport transfer package), optional fishing licenses and/or boat rentals, and any souvenirs. An added bonus is that Oregon has no sales tax!
Coastal View North Tour price includes:
All camping fees ~ all breakfasts and selected other meals ~ selected tours ~ all ticketed events and admissions ~ scheduled events and guided hikes ~ shuttles to trailheads and events ~ escorted by two guides ~ trip log ~ road maps ~ information packet ~ daily briefing ~ souvenir t-shirt ~ local and historical narration ~ nightly community campfire and charcoal grill ~ small groups ~ and if you are renting an RV: use of a CB radio and antenna, camp chairs, lanterns, and flashlights.
