Best of Oregon & the Redwoods - 2002 Itinerary

Meals: Provided meals are listed for each day below as (B) breakfast, (L) lunch, and (D) dinner. 18 meals will be provided as follows: 14 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners are provided. Itinerary is subject to change.

Day 1 - Monday, August 12: Rendevous check-in beginning at 3:15 pm. Welcome BBQ dinner at 6:00 pm including birthday cake. Detailed itineraries, camp & cell phone numbers, maps, and 2-way radios handed out. (D)

Day 2 - Tuesday, August 13: 8:00 am departure. National Scenic Byway, five waterfalls, sternwheeler cruise, grocery & supplies stop. (B) (L)

Day 3 - Wednesday, August 14: No driving today. Day open to explore alpine lake area. (B)

Day 4 - Thursday, August 15: 8:00 am departure. Oregon Trail hike and pioneer grave, tour of 1937 WPA grand lodge, Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. (B)

Day 5 - Friday, August 16: 8:00 am departure. Aquarium, lighthouse tour, beautiful coastal highway drive. (B)

Day 6 - Saturday, August 17: No driving today. Day open to explore beach, ocean vistas, and botanical gardens. (B)

Day 7 - Sunday, August 18: 9:00 am departure. Small coastal town, beautiful coast drive, rainforest hike, redwoods. (B)

Day 8 - Monday, August 19: No driving today. Shuttle available for redwoods hike and ocean bluff for whale watching. (B)

Day 9 - Tuesday, August 20: 8:00 am departure. Sausage factory visit & lunch, cave tour, Gold Rush-era town. (B) (L)

Day 10 - Wednesday, August 21: No driving today. 9:00 am shuttle departure for special Shakespeare Festival back-stage tour. Day available for exploring art galleries and shops until 8:00 curtain time at the Elizabethan Outdoor Theatre. (B)

Day 11 - Thursday, August 22: 8:00 am departure. 1872 grain mill, General Store Museum, Rogue River Gorge viewpoint, sunset over mountain lake, full moon tonight. (B)

Day 12 - Friday, August 23: No driving today. 7:30 am shuttle departure. Hike down to Crater Lake, 2-hour narrated boat cruise, optional hike or fish on Wizard Island, or shuttle around entire lake for photos. (B)

Day 13 - Saturday August 24: 8:00 am departure. Lava bed area, nationally-known specialty museum, beautiful mountain drive. (B)

Day 14 - Sunday, August 25: No driving today. Day open to explore Oregon's largest state park and hike any or all of its 10 spectacular waterfalls, Farewell Dinner at a fine-dining establishment famous for regional cuisine. (B) (D)

Day 15 - Monday, August 26: Depart at your own convenience. Rented RVs must be returned. Trip Over. (B)

$1095 - per person, double or better occupancy (2, 3 or 4 people in one vehicle)
$400 - single supplement* (additional cost for only 1 person in the vehicle)

Price includes ~ all camping fees ~ all breakfasts and selected other meals ~ selected tours ~ all ticketed events and admissions ~ scheduled events and guided hikes ~ shuttles to trailheads and events ~ escorted by two guides on call 24/7 ~ trip log ~ road maps ~ information packet ~ daily briefing ~souvenir t-shirt ~ local and historical narration ~ nightly community campfire and charcoal grill ~ small groups (4 vehicle limit) ~ and if you are renting an RV: use of a CB radio and antenna, camp chairs, lanterns, and flashlights.

Early Booking Discount Available:
20% discount if Deposit is recieved by December 31, 2001, or if Full Payment is received by February 15, 2002. Discount applies to the $1095 per person base price, but does not apply to the $400 single supplement cost.
This is a savings of $219 per person, or $876 per person double or better occupancy.

* We try to match up singles with other singles so they can share an RV, gas, and reduce their tour costs. With permission, we give e-mail addresses to other singles, and they can swap phone numbers, talk, and make up their minds about sharing accommodations.

Space is limited to 4 vehicles (up to 12 people) in order to maximize the nature experience.
Four people per vehicle maximum please.
